Welcome to the Sophomore Class Page on Eli Wiesel’s Night.

As we read, you will use this site to reflect on the reading and respond to your classmates. To encourage you to be anonymous and maintain good internet manners, you should choose and turn in a username, which will allow me to grade your posts. You must use this username to get credit for the Blog Project.

Others will only know your username if you give it to them!

Your final grade will be determined by the following:

  • 8 out of 9 possible “paragraph posts”
  • 8 out of 9 minimum “response posts”

A paragraph post is :

  • Your reflection/feelings after reading the section, which could be:

an answer to the given question over a section of the reading,

3 things you learned from the section,

3 questions you would consider essential/quiz questions (answers listed separately), or

3 things you find important for an understanding of the section.

A response post is a thoughtful and respectful comment in response to someone else’s post. You may agree with their idea, ask for more information/clarification on a thought, or gently disagree with their idea. Posts will be read before they appear on the site, so carefully consider what you are writing!  Inappropriate comments will be returned with a request to re-write!

No:

  • foul language
  • name calling/harassment
  • inappropriate information (yes, some of the book is graphic/intense, but don’t add to that, please)

Yes:

  • links to other important information
  • thoughtful discussion of the hows and whys and wherefores
  • just posting what you see in the text
  • Page Numbers on specific quotes/sections!
  • proper english usage

Please comment below to acknowledge that you have read and understand the above guidelines!
